It has been a joy to start an orchid collection at Casa de los Celtas; with between 1.300 - 1.400 species in Costa Rica, its a 'work in progress' we will never complete. So far, we have over 180 named species and over 220 plants dotted around the garden! Exquisite plants - many can also be found on local woodland and riverside walks.
Where the species is unknown, only the genus name is given. Sorry they're all rather a mouthful but orchids are the only plant family with no common names. If any viewer can name the unidentified species, we would be delighted to hear from you!
